| HOW CAN A PERSON RECEIVE FORGIVENESS FROM GOD THE FATHER ? Here is the problem. We have to be able to approach God in order to ask for forgiveness. And we can't do it without absolute holiness ! Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: How can we get close enough to even ask for forgiveness ? Jesus is our Solution. He said, In John 14:6 ...I am THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. So, how do we get Jesus to go on our behalf before God the Father to obtain our forgiveness ? In John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Just how is a person really born again ? It is a spiritual experience. In explaining it to a religious person (whose name was Nicodemus), Jesus said, in John 3:5-6, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. In other words, a person must be born physically (physical birth takes place after a baby leaves the sack of water in the mother, and is introduced into the new environment of air)--and THEN must be born spiritually. O.K., I understand it is a spiritual experience, but how do I go about having this experience ? It is a matter of placing your absolute faith in Jesus Christ, as your Savior and Lord. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This "belief" that God requires isn't a partial thing. He didn't say put "a portion of your faith..." God wants you to FULLY depend upon Jesus Christ to be your personal Savior. Only when a person is "born again" can they have access to God the Father through Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Your Salvation has already been paid for through the shedding of the innocent, perfect, sinless Blood of God's Lamb, Jesus Christ. But, it is urgent for you to respond to God's offer to allow this payment to be applied to your life. If you ask God, believing His Word, and trusting Jesus Christ, He will freely give you forgiveness and everlasting life ! Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. That's God's invitation to YOU to receive absolute forgiveness and eternal life ! God wants you to come to Him, and know His wonderful love for you. It's a love that brought Jesus, the Messiah, to become God's Lamb that paid for your sins on the horrible Cross. He lives today, and will save you, if you ask Him in faith !
